My Mom Banned Me from Seeing My Dad, but Everything Took a Turn After His Call – Story of the Day

After my parents divorced, my mother kept me from seeing my dad. As a child, I begged to visit him, but she refused, even calling the cops when I tried to go on my own. By the time I turned 18, I moved out, but seeing my dad was still difficult. He had remarried and had twins, and our visits were awkward, though we kept in touch by phone.

When I was 29, my mom reached out, wanting to mend our relationship, but she refused to apologize for her actions. Frustrated, I ended the conversation. Then, my dad called me urgently, asking me to meet him at an amusement park. It turned out he just wanted to spend a day making up for lost time, and we talked about the past. He encouraged me to reconcile with my mom.

Later, I called my mom, shared my feelings, and for the first time, she apologized. We started talking more, and I grew closer to my dad and his family, finally experiencing the relationship I’d always wanted.

This story teaches us that divorce affects children deeply and that letting go of grudges is important for healing and happiness.
