On January 29, an American Airlines flight collided with a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington, D.C., killing 67 people, including Justyna Beyer, 42, and her 12-year-old daughter Brielle.
Andy Beyer, the husband and father, revealed how he became suspicious something was wrong when the plane was late, and texts weren’t going through. After confirmation from a friend in air traffic control, Beyer feared the worst. He later learned of their deaths while waiting with family members at the airport.
Brielle, a cancer survivor, had recently achieved her goal of making the US Figure Skating National Development Camp team. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family during this heartbreaking time.
