I was gone for three weeks—when I returned, I discovered a message in my son’s drawings signed by an unfamiliar “mommy.”

When Anna returned home after three weeks away, she was thrilled to reunite with her son, Leo, until she found a chilling message in his drawings: “To my new son Leo. With love!” The handwriting was unfamiliar, and Leo said it was from his new “mommy.”

Confused and fearful, Anna confronted her husband Mark. Leo had told her that Mark’s mother, Margaret, said he now had two mommies because Mark remarried. Mark was shocked and explained that he had a medical condition preventing him from being with anyone else, but Anna’s suspicions shifted to Margaret.

The next day, Anna compared Margaret’s handwriting with Leo’s drawings and discovered they were a match. Mark confronted his mother, who admitted she’d tried to drive a wedge between Anna and Mark, believing Anna wasn’t right for him.

Mark distanced himself from his mother, and Anna cut ties completely. Despite the betrayal, Anna felt relief knowing her marriage was strong and her family was free from manipulation.
