A year ago, I wrote about a 14-year-old girl, Ellie, who bought a camper with her babysitting money and turned it into a glamper. Now 15, she’s done it again, this time to raise money for her friend Eli, who’s battling brain cancer.
Ellie bought a 1976 Serro Scotty camper for $250, despite its poor condition. With help from her family, they spent a month repairing and decorating it. Ellie selected a fun pink and black theme, with new flooring, curtains, and a chalkboard closet door. The glamper is filled with positive messages and cozy decor.
They spent $1,500 on the remodel, but it was worth it to help Eli. Tickets for a chance to win the glamper were sold, and the raffle raised over $13,000 for Eli’s family. The winner was Steven Eddy from WV. Ellie’s effort proved that even young hearts can make a huge impact.
