Molly’s life had been hard, especially with her son, Tommy, who struggled with constant moves and changing schools. The instability led to Tommy acting out, and Molly felt helpless. One day, she received a call from the principal about Tommy’s behavior. Desperate, she agreed to meet the teacher, fearing expulsion would make finding another school impossible.
At the meeting, Molly was surprised to find her ex-boyfriend, Christian, there. He expressed regret for walking away from her years ago and wanted to be part of Tommy’s life, offering to help him. Molly felt torn between her life with Nigel, who had never fully accepted Tommy, and Christian’s offer to be a father figure.
Later that evening, she came home to find Nigel drunk and unemployed again. Realizing she couldn’t keep living like this, Molly decided it was time to leave. She packed up Tommy’s things, woke him up, and told him they were going somewhere safe with someone who cared about them. For the first time in years, Molly felt hope for a better future.
